Based on prayerful consideration of the church mission statement and parishioners’ responses to a questionnaire this spring, the vestry has identified the following core values, along with some short-term objectives that spring from them. We welcome comment and ideas.
Worship and spiritual nurture are central to our church life.
Cherish and celebrate our Episcopal traditions and sense of God’s presence among us.
Experience meaningful sermons that speak to mind and heart and relate faith to life.
Christian education - for all ages - is crucial.
Bolster the resources, time, and talent given to the church school.
Focus on adult education.
Pastoral leadership is key to our mission.
Care and counsel for individuals in need.
Guide and be involved with the church school and adult education.
We are called to serve, and in serving we bless and are blessed.
Continue and expand outreach programs.
Develop a total stewardship program.
Our close-knit congregational feeling is a gift of God.
Recognize and encourage opportunities for fellowship in both work and play.
Welcome new and diverse people.
Improve internal communication and conflict resolution.
Spiritual growth is a higher priority than physical growth, but both must be monitored and provided for.
Retain and maintain our location and sanctuary.
Be alert to opportunities to acquire adjacent properties.
